The adventures of Shania

Today was a typical Brian and Colleen sort of day.  We woke up, stopped at Starbucks to upload a blog post and hit the open road!  We were about 200 miles outside of Nashville when we decided to stop for gas.  After getting gas, we went to get back on the highway and saw this little girl on the side of the road.

Brian pulled over and I got out of the car.  She came running over to me and was so friendly!  She had a shock collar but it was filthy and she didn't have any tags so someone wasn't taking such great care of her.  We asked around and found an animal hospital a few exits away and they scanned her but unfortunately she is not micro-chipped so now she's a souvenir for some lucky blog reader!  She is so so sweet and she's probably only about a year old and 20ish pounds.  We decided to name her Shania after Brian's favorite country girl.  She loves people and is very content to just lay down and sleep on the pillow we gave her.  We were in the car for about 10 hours driving to Michelle & Michael's and she switched off taking naps with both of us and playing with her water bottle.  When we got here she was so excited for more people and just loves to play with everyone.
Shania decided to hang back and relax as she's had a long day and we all headed out to Woodstock Inn for dinner.  This is my first biker bar ever!  I was a little nervous that we would run into some Hells' Angels but we lucked out!  After having my first Maryland cheesesteak -which was actually really good- we went back to the house.  Michael gave us some brief history on the way back of the surrounding towns to continue our learning part of the trip, so helpful!  We got back and played with Shania a little and now we're off for our last night's sleep in someone else's bed!  We can't believe this is our last night but it was definitely the best last night!  Michael even mentioned something about pancakes in the morning... so exciting!!
Oh and Terry, see above picture for the grandbaby... think any of her grandparents will want to keep her??? =)

  1. I do not believe your parent's would be the ones to keep her as they've got 2 of their own already!! I do believe that if your sister had her own place she would. But as a result of that not being an option...I guess it's up to the Restivo's to come to the rescue...

  4. Uncle Rich and I have enjoyed reading your blog as you traveled across the country. However, do not look to the Restivos in Commack to adopt Shania. IT AIN'T HAPPENING!!!!

Have a safe trip home today!
