We're both working all day, then we'll come home and load up the car. So what do you bring on an 18 day trip? Giant suitcases, cameras, navigations, books, maps, tons of wires and chargers, a cooler that takes up the entire back seat of the car and of course Frappuccinos for those 13 hour driving days! The good news is, I don't think we forgot to pack anything - because I think we actually brought everything we own (think "bring only what you need to survive"......................)
It's a lot like moving to a new house... except our house is now a Highlander...
Needless to say, tomorrow will be a very busy day! Even though we will be rushing around and exhausted tomorrow and pretty much for the next 2 1/2 weeks, I'm sure this will be soooo worth it! (Start playing the Star Spangled Banner in your heads) As much as we would LOVE to go to Europe or relax on some beach and do nothing, this country has so many cool places to go and things to see! And this is such an exciting way to experience it all at once. If anyone is interested in doing this, go for it, the planning alone is worth it! Just remember, it's not a vacation, it's an experience!
