Last night in Levittown for a while...

So in about 24 hours we will be arriving at our first stop... Chadds Ford, PA-home of the Baggios!  Tom & Jess have not only offered their home to us nomads but they've promised awesome blog material and I'm sure they will deliver!
We're both working all day, then we'll come home and load up the car.  So what do you bring on an 18 day trip?  Giant suitcases, cameras, navigations, books, maps, tons of wires and chargers, a cooler that takes up the entire back seat of the car and of course Frappuccinos for those 13 hour driving days!  The good news is, I don't think we forgot to pack anything - because I think we actually brought everything we own (think "bring only what you need to survive"......................)

It's a lot like moving to a new house... except our house is now a Highlander...

Needless to say, tomorrow will be a very busy day!  Even though we will be rushing around and exhausted tomorrow and pretty much for the next 2 1/2 weeks, I'm sure this will be soooo worth it!  (Start playing the Star Spangled Banner in your heads) As much as we would LOVE to go to Europe or relax on some beach and do nothing, this country has so many cool places to go and things to see!  And this is such an exciting way to experience it all at once.  If anyone is interested in doing this, go for it, the planning alone is worth it!  Just remember, it's not a vacation, it's an experience!
Oh and Bill & Terry- DDD is Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, one of the best shows ever... Food Network, check it out! =)

It's almost time to leave!

So we decided back in January that we would do a cross country trip in September...and now all of a sudden it's here!!  In the past few months we've spent countless hours deciding on where we'll go, what we'll see and most importantly where we'll eat!  Thanks to DDD, Man vs Food and tips from family & friends we've had lots of help with this!

We will be leaving Long Island Tuesday night (8/31) and returning on Saturday (9/18).  This will most likely be the most exhausting trip we have ever and will ever do but it will be so worth it!  Along the way we'll be visiting friends & family and being the biggest tourists ever!  We will be doing some factory tours, city tours, visiting Yellowstone & Mt Rushmore, driving down the CA coast and staying at some fun places including a log cabin in Jackson Hole, a "green" hotel in Lake Tahoe and a balcony room on Bourbon St!

In between driving for hours and hours and hours and sightseeing and maybe catching a few hours sleep, we'll be updating our blog so everyone can get excited and plan their next exhausting trip!  Don't worry we've done all the work so it'll be easy for you guys!

Okay now off to finish packing and enjoy the last few days with our puppies before we leave!
